Surrender

surrender is not a loss of control.

It’s gaining trust in the process, learning to be in the moment of our breath and helping the mind get out of our own way.

Surrender

How does one let go? And what do we need to let go of? That’s a very good question and one that is very personal to each person.

In my program, I teach a process that can help you get there.

First there’s an unlearning that needs to happen. Our subconscious mind, while not immediately accessible, is always online, absorbing lessons from the environment. If the same messages are repeated, the subconscious mind accepts these lessons as truth. Where the mind goes, the body follows. Some of that serves us; say, don’t touch a hot stove because it will burn you. But some of it is a lot more nuanced and doesn’t serve us; such as the often negative and misinformed messaging around birth, which ends up leaving us tense, apprehensive or even deeply fearful of birth.

What are all the lessons surrounding birth that we’ve absorbed? What does modern day birthing look like and how did we get here?

We then unpack the nuances. We explore the evidence and physiology of birth and how to navigate our options for birthing in the modern age. When we are informed and feel confident in managing decisions around care, we start to believe in our capacity to birth more gently and with ease.

Once our minds are informed, we can adequately tune in to what our body needs from us to birth the way it was designed. This is where we learn to surrender. We live in such a fast paced, hyper analytical society that relaxation is not something that just comes to all of us. It’s something we need to practice.

Relaxation is letting go.

Relaxation is surrender.

We need to feel safe to surrender in the moment.

We do this through repeated practice, visualizations and knowledge. I’m there to guide you in going deeper in relaxation during class and give you all the tools to continue your practice at home. When your body can sink into deep relaxation easily, it’s more likely to be able to do this throughout the birthing process. The philosophies behind HypnoBirthing don’t stop at birth. We also talk about the fourth trimester, breastfeeding and nutrition. The data shows that HypnoBirthing parents report less postpartum depression and anxiety, happier babies and faster recoveries. HypnoBirthing is a gift that keeps on giving.
